→ Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy sessions address coping techniques and problem solving strategies, as well as methods for improving self-esteem and interpersonal skills. Adjustment to living with a neurological injury/disease is a major focus. Cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness are typical modalities.
→ Group Psychotherapy
This group strives to improve the emotional and psychological issues that are common to individuals who have suffered a TBI, or to those living with other chronic illnesses. With a specialized focus on high functioning patients, this therapy provides methods for improving communication skills, which are often affected after suffering a brain injury. Coping methods and goals related to overcoming such issues are discussed and established. Group therapy meets every Friday.
