INDIVIDUAL & GROUP THERAPIES

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS

 →  Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy sessions address coping techniques and problem solving strategies, as well as methods for improving self-esteem and interpersonal skills. Adjustment to living with a neurological injury/disease is a major focus. Cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness are typical modalities.

 →  Group Psychotherapy

This group strives to improve the emotional and psychological issues that are common to individuals who have suffered a TBI, or to those living with other chronic illnesses. With a specialized focus on high functioning patients, this therapy provides methods for improving communication skills, which are often affected after suffering a brain injury. Coping methods and goals related to overcoming such issues are discussed and established. Group therapy meets every Friday.

TREATMENT PROGRAMS

We offer two therapy programs in addition to psychotherapy.

Over time, it will strengthen motor skills, including mobility and gross motor function, and many fundamental cognitive capacities such as planning, organizing, and language.

 → WOPR

For those with issues pertaining to memory loss, the WOPR program is prescribed to assist in developing strategies for coping with memory loss and for improving memory function.
